NYPD were called to the report of a shooting at the basketball court at the Stapleton Houses on May 19th at approximately 3:55pm.
On arrival police located 13-year-old Jamoure Harrell suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. Harrell was rushed to Richmond University Medical Center in critical condition, where he died of his injuries on May 22nd.
Police said Harrell was the intended target and said shots rang out from more than 95 yards away. The 16-year-old shooter, is allegedly a member of the Fives, and was firing at a rival. The teen has been charged with murder, assault, menacing, and criminal use of a firearm.
