NYPD responded to an apartment on New York Avenue in East Flatbush around 9:45 p.m on March 17th.

On arrival police located 3-year-old Denim Brown, unresponsive in a bathtub, with trauma to his head and neck. He was rushed to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

According to reports the victim’s mother had left the boy with a 54-year-old friend. The 54-year-old man’s 29-year-old stepson was taken into custody for questioning, according to sources. no charges have been made at this time.

Update: Kevin James, 29, has been charged with murder, assault, and acting in a manner injurious to a child, police reported.
