51-year-old man fatally slashed in the East Village

NYPD were called to the report of an injured man at 214 Avenue A, on December 19th at approximately 1:05am.

On arrival police located a 51-year-old man unconscious and unresponsive with a laceration to his neck. The victim was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where he died of his injuries.

No arrests have been made at this time. Anyone with information regarding the homicide can call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.

Update December 26th
Roland Codrington, 35, was arrested and faces two counts each of murder (one for a homicide on December 23rd) and attempted murder, as well as additional charges of second-degree assault and criminal mischief.
