NYPD responded to reports of a strong, foul odor coming from the residence at the Madison Street apartment near Malcolm X Boulevard at approximately 12:40 p.m on August 2nd.
On arrival, police discovered the body of a 58-year-old man in an advanced state of decomposition. Police said a knife was lodged in the victim’s neck.
Authorities have not yet released the man’s identity, and it remains unclear how long he had been deceased before he was found. The death is being investigated as a homicide, with the official cause of death pending an autopsy by the city’s Medical Examiner.
