NYPD responded to 911 reports of a shooting at the Daona Deli, on East 81st street and Third Avenue at approximately 11:28 p.m. on March 3rd.

According to reports a man entered the deli in a white hazmat suit with a black mask, and demanded money. He shot the employee Sueng Choi, 67, in the head before fleeing on a moped. The victim was pornounced deceased at the scene.

A man matching the same description of the shooter robbed a second bodega in the Bronx on Melrose Avenue at gunpoint 30 minutes later. 

Update March 9th
NYPD announced that the suspect has been placed under arrest. Police apprehended Kimond Cyrus, 39, at Co-Op City in The Bronx. According to police Cyrus allegedly pistol-whipped Choi with the gun when it went off, killing him.
