NYPD Chief of Patrol John Chell, said police were called to a luxury apartment building at around 5:20 p.m on July 4th, located at 147-25 94th Ave after several residents called police for help.

On arrival police were confronted by a man in his 20’s, at the 5th floor apartment, holding a knife to his 43-year-old father’s neck. Police said a 29-year-old woman was also wounded, an 8-year-old boy was fatally stabbed and an 8-month-old-baby was unharmed.

Police demanded the man drop his weapon. The suspect refused, and the officer opened fire. The suspect was later rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.
