NYPD responded to an assault at 33A Carmel Ct. on December 5th at 11:31 p.m.

Laxmiben Khristi, 87, was located by police suffering from a stab wound to her chest. She was rushed to hospital where she died of her injuries.

Police have taken a person of interest into custody.
