NYPD responded to the report of a shooting on April 3rd at approximately 11:30pm. Police said a family member called authorities when they discovered Andrew Cruz, 28, with a gunshot wound to the head in his apartment on Blake Avenue near Logan Street.

Cruz was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

There have been 96 homicides in NYC so far in 2022, and according to The New York Post, it’s a slight dip from 105 during that period in 2021.
