NYPD were called to a home at 94-59 109th Ave. in Ozone Park at about 2:30 p.m on May 4th.

On arrival police located Anna Torres, 51, who was suffering from two gunshot wounds. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The suspect Giuseppe Canzani, 41, fled in a black Chevy Traverse after the shooting, and turned himself in at approximately 3:30pm at the 106th Precinct.

According to The New York Post, Canzani had gotten into a dispute with Torres outside her Queens home in days previous. Canzani tole police he shot Torres “because she was a witch” and that she had put a spell on him and cursed him. 

Canzani was not known to police and had prior criminal record.
