Anthony Erzuah charged with the murder of his wife Monica Akua in the Bronx

NYPD responded to a 911 call of an injured woman inside an apartment unit at 40 W. Mosholu Parkway South, at around 10:50 a.m. on July 14th.

On arrival police located 52-year-old Monica Akua unresponsive, with multiple stab wounds. Akua was rushed to St. Barnabas Medical Center, where she was later pronounced deceased.

The victim’s husband, Anthony Erzuah, 59, was the person who called 911. He has since been charged with:

  • murder;
  • manslaughter;
  • criminal possession of a weapon.
