NYPD were called to the report of a shooting at the corner of Lexington Avenue and East 95th Street on June 29th at approximately 8:23pm.

Police Commissioner Keechant Sewell said 20-year-old Azsia Johnson of Staten Island was with her 3-month-old baby who was in a stroller when she was approached from behind by a man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black sweatpants and shot at close range. The child was uninjured in the stroller when police arrived. Johnson was rushed to Metropolitan Hospital where she died of her injuries.

Police said the suspect fled the scene on foot eastbound along East 95th Street. No arrests have been made.
