Body found burning in a shopping cart linked to human remains found in a Bronx apartment

Yonkers police said a body was located burning at approximately 2:00am on August 5th near the Oak Street Bridge. The body was without hands or teeth.

Yonkers police said investigators discovered that the body was set on fire within their jurisdiction, however, the killing happened elsewhere. The investigation was then transferred to NYPD.

NYPD said they obtained video of a man rolling a shopping cart onto a Metro-North train that appeared to be the same shopping cart later found on fire.

A search warrant was executed at home on Rogers Place near East 163rd Street where police located hands in a crockpot full of bleach and feet in the freezer according to the New York Post. Police also recovered a firearm and drug paraphernalia at the scene.

Police have not released the identity of either the victim or person of interest. The cause of death still needs to be determined.
