NYPD said Duane Patterson, 61, was working at Billymark’s West Bar on December 24th at around 3am when he was struck by a man outside of the bar after refusing entry.
Patterson was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where doctors determined his skull was fractured and he was suffering brain damage. He was pronounced deceased in hospital three days later.
A gofundme campaign has been created to help the family with expenses.
No arrests have been made and Police are searching for the suspect who is described as a male with a dark complexion, between 40 and 50 years old, bald with a heavy build. He was last seen wearing a red Champion hoodie sweater, black jacket, black pants and black sneakers.
Update:
Earl Gumbs, 34, was arrested on January 12th and is facing charges of manslaughter and assault.
