Bouncer stabbed to death and another injured at a Brooklyn Party

NYPD responded to the report of a stabbing at an even space located in the area of Seventh St. near Third Ave. in Gowanus on February 26th at approximately 10:40pm.

On arrival emegency crews located two men suffering from stabbing injuries. Both men were boucers at the even, ages 25 & 21. Paramedics rushed both victims to New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where the 21-year-old man was in stable condition.

According to reports Jose Velasco, 19, an unwanted guest attempted to enter the party when he was turned away by the bouncers. An argument broke out resulting in Marvin Pretto, 25, a bouncer being stabbed in the chest, and the second bouncer stabbed in the back.

Police said Velasco claims he found the murder weapon during the arguement. He was charged with first-degree manslaughter in relation to the fatal stabbing death of Pretto, and assault in relation to the stabbing of the second man.

The suspect was taken into police custody and charges are pending.
