NYPD responded to a shooting at corner of West 19th Street and 9th Avenue, on March 8th at approximately 10:00pm.

According to The Villager, two men left a nearby deli and exchanged words with the shooter just prior to the shooting.

Police arrived to find a 31-year-old Kenneth Williams, suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen and a second man with a gunshot wound to the arm. Both victims were rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where the 31-year-old man died of his injuries.

According to reports, the fatal gunshot wound was aimed for the second victim, who was the ex-boyfriend of the shooter’s girlfriend. Tyrell Rodgers, 28, has been charged with murder.
