NYPD responded to a 911 report of an assault in progress in the are of Rogers Place and Dawson Street on May 15th at approximately 7:45 pm.

Police arrived to find Gabriel Ramirez Gomez, 27, suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest and a 43-year-old woman with a non-life-threatening wound to her leg. Both were rushed to Lincoln Medical Center where Ramirez Gomez was pronounced deceased.

According to reports, the shooter fled the scene on a red e-bike. No arrests have been made.
