Jasmer Singh, 66, was driving with his wife on October 19th when he was in a collision in front of 87-34 Van Wyck Expressway.

The driver of the other car, Gilbert Augustin, 30, exited his vehicle and began punching Singh in the head. Singh fell and hit his head on the road before Augustin fled the scene.

NYPD arrived at the scene to find Singh unresponsive. He was rushed to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center where he died on October 20th.

Augustin was arrested and charged with manslaughter, assault, driving without a license and leaving the scene of an accident.
