Police said 72-year-old Gladstone “Popeye” Barrett was shot in his home on Guy R. Brewer Boulevard on April 1st at approximately 3:10pm.

Police said Barrett was shot during an argument with his daughter’s ex-boyfriend.

Barrett was rushed to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, with gunshot wounds to his chest and right hand where he died of his injuries on April 19th.

No arrests have been made at this time
