According to reports the victim, 25-year-old Imani Armstrong has just finished her shift at an IHOP when she was approached by a masked person and shot in the back of the head.

Police said the shooting happened just after 5:00am at East 14th Street and Irving Place.

Police said the motive is not known at this time but they believe the homicide was targeted. Chief of Department Kenneth Corey said “We have a number of suspects that we’re looking at but nothing we want to commit to right now. But I’m very comfortable saying it was not a random attack.” 

Clarkson Wilson, was arrested and charged with the murder of his estranged ex, Imani Armstrong. The New York Post reported that Wilson was allegedly the father of Armstrong’s child.
