Jaheem Warren charged with the Manhattan murder of Leslie Torres

NYPD said 33-year-old Jaheem Warren allegedly strangled Leslie Torres, 23, on October 29th after following her for approximately 30 minutes. Police said Torres was found in the area of West 46 Street and 8th Avenue at around 1:35 p.m. in front of Riu Plaza Hotel.

She was rushed to hospital where she died of her injuries on November 4th.

Facial recognition technology was used to ID Warren as a suspect. Police said he was extradited on November 12th to Manhattan following his arrest in New Jersey. Warren is facing charges of murder, two counts of strangulation, and two counts of assault.
