NYPD were called to the report of a stabbing at Joe’s Deli Grocery on January 2nd at approximately 2:38 p.m.
According to reports a fight broke out between Jaia Cruz, 24, and Ray Hodges, over a food order and who was next in line. The altercation became physical when Cruz allegedly stabbed Hodges in the stomach. He was rushed to Harlem Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Jaia Cruz, was arrested at the scene and charged with murder in the second degree.
