NYPD responded to the report of a shooting at 41 Greene street on June 25th at approximately 5:15 a.m.

On arrival police located 31-year-old Javier Osorio-Mejia suffering from gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Bellevue Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

As a result of the investigation Jayquan Straker, 35, of Poughkeepsie, was arrested on August 22 on first- and second-degree murder charges. He also faces charges of first and second-degree robbery, and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

According to AMNY “Straker allegedly followed Osorio-Mejia to the Manhattan location after the victim had spent the previous night at a club in Queens with a woman.”

Straker allegedly brandished a gun and attempted to rob the victim.
