The NYC 2023 Homicide Victim List is available here

NYPD responded to a shooting on Commonwealth Avenue near East 172nd Street in Soundview on May 15th at approximately 5:30pm.

On arrival police located 18-year-old Jerome Burleigh suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso. Burleigh was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.

Update: Jeremy Amadiz of East 172 Street was arrested on Friday, June 21, 2024, at 12:30 p.m.
