NYPD responded to a stabbing inside 7 Star Jamaica Deli Corp on May 6th at approximately 5:24 a.m.
On arrival police located 41-year-old Jonathan Gantt, with a stab wound to his leg. He was rushed to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
According to reports Gantt allegedly threw a bag of peanuts at the clerk, who came out from behind the counter and an altercation occurred. During the altercation a 68-year-old man entered the deli and stabbed Gantt before fleeing the scene. He was later arrested nearby, and charges are pending.
