Police responded to an assault in progress at 12 De Sales Place on March 4th at 8:58 p.m.

On arrival police located 41-year-old Jose Acevedo with multiple stab wounds in front of the home. He was rushed to Brookdale University Hospital where he died of his injuries.

Police believe the victim’s daughter 20-year-old Josephine Santiago, allegedly stabbed Acevedo following a verbal argument. She has been charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
