NYPD responded to a report of a stabbing at 1212 University Ave on January 6th at around 8:57pm.

On arrival police located 45-year-old Tyrone Quick, unconscious and unresponsive, with stab wounds to the chest and a woman with stabbing injuries to the arm. Both victims were rushed to NYC Health + Hospitals / Lincoln where Quick was pronounced deceased.

As a result of the investigation, police arrested Jose Ortiz, 66, and charged him with murder, attempted murder, manslaughter, attempted manslaughter, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
