According to reports Joseph Johnson, 29, left his bike in the middle of the street in the area of 4030 Ely Ave on May 19th at approximately 11:00am.

NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny said. “An unknown male states to Mr. Johnson: ‘Don’t leave that bike in the middle of the street.’ Mr. Johnson shouts back: “I’ll do whatever the fuck I want.’” The unknown male opened fire, striking Johnson in the head.

Johnson was rushed to Jacobi Hospital where he died of his injuries. A second man was injured but is expected to survive.
