Update: Sasha Nieves charged – Kashawn Thompson fatally stabbed in his Bronx apartment

NYPD responded to 2131 Mapes Avenue on March 16th at approximately 1:15pm following a 911 call.

Police arrived to find Kashawn Thompson, 48, suffering from a stab wound to the chest. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

According to reports, the victim’s girlfriend went to a neighbor when she was unable to get ahold of her boyfriend. “We went in the apartment and he was lying on the floor, face-up. Everything was tossed around. There was definitely a struggle.”

Update March 30th
Investigators announced that they have arrested Sasha Nieves, 32, and charged her with murder, manslaughter, robbery and criminal possession of a weapon. Police said Nieves allegedly stole the jewelry, a laptop and cash belonging to Thompson. According to nydailynews.com Nieves was Thompson’s girlfriend.
