Police said Lasasha Gouldbourne, 31, gave birth to a baby girl on September 1st, 2023, in the bathroom of her mother’s home on Bronx Park East. Gouldbourne left the bathroom with a bag of clothing. Her mother looked in the bag and saw the newborn baby girl unconscious.

Gouldborne’s mother called 911 and the baby was taken to Hospital where she was pronounced deceased. Gouldbourne was taken to the same hospital, where she gave birth to a second child, a boy who is the twin of the deceased girl by emergency cesarean section.

On January 31st, 2024, NYPD announced that Lasasha Gouldbourne has been charged with manslaughter.
