Latrell Lewis, charged with the murder of a 2-year-old in Brooklyn

Police said Latrell Lewis, 23, called police on August 27th on the report of a child feeling unwell.

Police arrived at the East 68th Street apartment and located the 2-year-old unconscious and unresponsive, with bruising to his stomach.

The child was rushed to Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased. The medical examiner said the child had sustained trauma to his head and body, with the cause of death ruled a homicide.

Latrell Lewis, was arrested charged with the murder of his girlfriend’s child on August 29th.

NYPD Assistant Chief Joseph Kenny said “Detectives interviewed him and during the interrogation, he admitted to throwing the child against the wall after the child woke him up while he was sleeping.”
