Police said 23-year-old Abdulhekim Esiyok, was crossing the road at Third Avenue near East 21st Street on June 4th when he was hit by a gray Hyundai sedan. 

Esiyok was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

In addition to the killing, a 21-year-old man, 26-year-old woman, and an 18-year-old e-bike rider were also injured.

As a result, Mahbub Ali was arrested and police noted his blood alcohol content was .158 two hours after the crash. He has been charged with manslaughter, assault, reckless endangerment and operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
