Police were called to the NYCHA’s Mott Haven Houses on East 143rd Street and Willis Avenue, on Easter Sunday on the report of a shooting.
On arrival police located Jermaine Nibbs, 45, suffering from gunshot wounds to his torso, and a second victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The two victims were rushed to Lincoln Hospital, where Nibbs was pronounced deceased.
Police are searching for a male suspect, described as having a dark complexion and wearing all black clothing, who was last seen fleeing on a scooter westbound along East 143rd Street.
