The NYC 2023 Homicide Victim List is available here

NYPD were called to a shooting in front of 1209 Ogden Ave on September 17th at approximately 1:00am.

On arrival police located 80-year-old Marcelino Valerio with a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced deceased.

According to police a man on a bicycle, dressed all in black rode past Valerio and his wife before circling back and shooting him at close range.

Update October 5th, Melvin Java, 46, was tracked down and arrested in Pennsylvania in relation to the fatal execution-style shooting of his stepfather. He is charged with murder, manslaughter, and criminal possession of a weapon. According to reports Java allegedly returned to the family home where he mourned the loss of his stepfather.
