Mauri Belarmino charged with strangling her elderly mother, Sherylyn Bailey to death in Staten Island

NYPD responded to the report of an unconscious woman inside 43 Ramapo Avenue on September 10th at 11:59 a.m.

On arrival police located 74-year-old Sherylyn Bailey unconscious in the home, She was declared deceased at the scene by EMS.

Investigators determined the cause of death to be death by strangulation and declared the death a homicide on September 13th.

The victim’s daughter, 40-year-old Mauri Belarmino, was arrested and charged with her murder.
