NYPD responded to a 911 report of a disturbance at an apartment on the Grand Concourse near E. 156th St on April 29th.

Police said Francisca Trinidad, 79, who was found unconscious and unresponsive inside the apartment, suffering from cuts and bruises to her eye and hands. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Her son, Melvin Arias, 57, was arrested, and charged with manslaughter, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
