The NYC 2023 Homicide Victim List is available here

NYPD responded to a shooting on August 12th just before 2:43 a.m. inside the Vernon Houses at 303 Vernon Ave.

On arrival police located a 29-year-old man, suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest. The victim was rushed to Kings County Hospital, where he died of his injuries. Police said the firearm believed to have been used in the shooting was recovered at the scene.

The suspect fled the scene and is described as a male, 20’s, with a dark complexion and wearing a white t-shirt.
