Update: Travis Blake Arrested in Maine – NYPD investigate a Queens triple homicide

NYPD responded to a 911 call shortly after 2 p.m on Friday June 24th after a family member discovered a brutal scene.

Police arrived to find a 22-year-old woman stabbed to death on a bed with her hands bound together and tape over her mouth (according to the post….police have not confirmed). Investigators then knocked done a locked basement door and located a 55-year-old woman and her 36-year-old son deceased. Police said the woman had stab wounds and a man had puncture wounds to the head and neck.

The victims have been identified as Karlene Barnett, 55, her 35-year-old son Dervon Brightly, and family friend Vashawnna Sharakay Lajuanna “Brittany” Malcolm, 22, who had been visiting from Jamacia. Police believe their bodies had been there for days before being discovered.

Update July 1st
The Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Travis Blake, 29, of Queens, in Maine on Thursday, June 30th. Blake was wanted for questioning in connection to the triple homicide and was last seen walking away from the murder scene. According to reports, Blake had been dating 55-year-old Barnett and had stopped at her Queens home to “pick up his property,” Police said victim Varshana Malcolm has told her brother this over the phone on June 22nd.

Police have not released what charges Blake may be facing.
