NYPD investigate the fatal shooting of a man behind the 28th Precinct

Just before midnight on May 18, NYPD discovered an unidentified man lying on the sidewalk behind the 28th Precinct, located at 2271 Frederick Douglass Boulevard.

Investigators said the victim had suffered a gunshot wound to the head.

Emergency responders transported the man to Mount Sinai St. Luke’s Hospital, but despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Investigators are still trying to determine the man’s identity and what led to the shooting. No arrests have been made.

The case remains open, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
