NYPD responded to the report of a shooting near 783 Hicks St Brooklyn, on March 27th at approximately 6:40pm.

On arrival police located Yusef Dinkins, 33, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his torso and arm. The victim was rushed to  NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, where he died of his injuries. Dinkins lived approximately 3 blocks from the shooting.

Investigators believe Dinkins and a 20-year-old man got into a dispute escalated into a physical confrontation outside the Kennedy Fried Chicken, ending with the shooting of Dinkins.

The 20-year-old suspect was taken into custody for questioning. Police said charges against the suspect are pending the results of the ongoing investigation.
