NYPD were called to a home on the 1400 block of Oakley Street on June 1st at approximately 6:08am.

On arrival police located 37-year-old Ashley Smith of Mount Vernon unconscious and unresponsive with a slash wound to her neck. She was rushed to Jacobi Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.

According to The New York Post the slashing occurred after a party had just broken up, and a knife and broken liquor bottle were located at the scene.

Update: Jaleesa Richardson has been arrested and faces charges of second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.
