NYPS were called to what was reported as an assault in progress at 388 Pearl St., on May 9th at approximately 8:50 p.m.
On arrival, police and paramedics located a 35-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest. The victim was rushed Bellevue Hospital, where he died of his injuries.
Police are searching for a suspect described as a man with a dark complexion and dreadlocks, last seen wearing a red-and-white checkered jacket. He was spotted fleeing eastbound toward South Street following the shooting.
