NYPD responded to the report of a shooting at an apartment on Covert Street on January 29th at approximately 12:47 p.m.

On arrival police located 32-year-old Lamel Murphy of the Bronx suffering from gunshot wounds. He was rushed to One Brooklyn Health-Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center where he died of his injuries.

Police said the assailant fled the scene and was described as wearing a black mask and blue jeans. Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
