NYPD were called to a shooting on May 17th at approximately 10:00pm in the 800 block of New Jersey Avenue.

On arrival police located Zanir Childs suffering from a gunshot wound to his torso, and a woman also suffering from a gunshot wound. Childs was taken to Kings County Hospital, where he died of his injuries. The female victim was taken to Brookdale University Hospital, where she was listed as stable.
