NYPD Officer Jonathan Diller fatally shot on duty in Queens

According to reports Officer Jonathan Diller approached an illegally parked vehicle at a bus stop at 19-19 Mott Ave on March 25th at around 5:50 p.m.

NYPD Commissioner Edward Caban said “After approaching the car, the suspect inside the vehicle displayed a firearm and pointed it toward the officers. Shots were fired, and one of our officers was struck. The officer’s partner also fired, striking the suspect”

Diller was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries. Police recovered a firearm at the scene.

Guy Rivera, 34, was charged with murder and attempted murder for attempting to shoot Diller’s partner. A second man Lindy Jones was indicted on charges of criminal possession of a weapon after a second firearm was found in the car.
