The NYC 2023 Homicide Victim List is available here

NYPD responded to the report of a shooting at a Harlem smoke shop at 304 Lenox Ave on April 9th at approximatelt 8:00pm.

Police loctaed the 36-year-old victim suffering from gunshot wounds to the head and back. He was rushed to NYC Health and Hospitals/Harlem where he was pronounced deceased. The victim has been identified as Brandon Brunson.

According to reports, the victim and the suspect were involved in a dispute that escallated. The gunman then shot the victim on the head and when the victim tired to get up he was shot again in the back.

No arrests have been made. Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).

Update April 11th
NYPD tracked down Messiah Nantwi, 21, through a CrimeStoppers tip, and charged him with murder and criminal possession of a weapon. Nantwi has also been charged with the murder of 19-year-old Jaylen Duncan in Harlem on April 8th. Police said the victim’s and accused were not known to eachother.
