NYPD responded to a tip of a body inside a unit at the Nostrand Avenue apartment around 6:15 a.m on January 22.
On arrival to the unit, police found the refrigerator taped up. The woman in the unit, 45-year-old Heather Stines, tried to stop police from looking in the kitchen where the discovery was made. inside the Refrigerator police located a head and other body parts on ice.
She claimed the body was a local drug dealer who went missing last year, he has been identified by NBC as Kawsheen Gelzer. According to reports Gelzer, was on the state sex offender registry since he was convicted of molesting a 12-year-old boy in 2005.
According to NYPOST “Stines allegedly identified the drug dealer from a photograph and said a tattoo on the dismembered body matched one worn by the missing man.”
Stines, is now undergoing psychiatric evaluation but has not been charged. Stines told police her husband killed Gelzer in September, then chopped him up and put the pieces in the freezer.

Nicholas McGee, 45, who is in custody in Chesapeake, Virginia, for a fraud case, where he tried to cash a fraudulent check, has confessed to the killing. According to the New York Post, the alleged murder took place on March 22, 2022, 17 months earlier than cops believed.
McGee allegedly admitted to detectives that he killed Gelzer when he refused to pay his rent. He waited for Gelzer to fall asleep and then beat him with a hammer. When Gelzer woke up, he stabbed him with a knife, killing him.
McGee allegedly drank with his wife while he dismembered Gelzer’s body. The pair then smoked the drugs they had stolen from Glezer. He waited for Gelzer to fall asleep and then beat him with a hammer. When Gelzer woke up, he stabbed him with a knife, killing him.
