One dead and one injured in a Bronx shooting near a seafood restaurant

NYPD were called to a shooting at 2179 White Plains Road near the Shaking Crab on Feb 23rd at approximately 8:00pm.

On arrival police located a 32-year-old man, who was suffering from a gunshot wound to his back. He walked to hospital where he is expected to survive.

Kemahni Smalls, a 33-year-old from Staten Island, was also shot in the back. He was transported to Jacobi Hospital by private means, but despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead.

Police are searching for a suspect described as a man in his 20s last seen wearing a sweatshirt and dark-colored pants, who fled on foot. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
