Update: Three men arrested – Police believe Washington Heights Shooting Victim Reda Girgis, was an innocent bystander

NYPD were called to a shooting at ChopCheese Deli 2 on May 23 at 7:11 p.m.

On arrival police and EMS located 66-year-old Reda Girgis who was visiting his son at work, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. Girgis was used to Metropolitan Hospital, where he died of his injuries on May 24th.

Police said it appeared he was not the intended target.

Update June 8th
Reaham Steed, 23, Jonadel Lakard, 22, and Kelwin Sanchez, 19, have been arrested in relation to the murder of Reda Girgis. According to reports the three are allegedly members of members of the 200 EOD gang.
Steed and Lakard have been charged with murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon, and criminal possession of a firearm. Sanchez has been charged with murder, assault, and criminal possession of a weapon.
