46-year-old Claudia Mendez-Vasquez was driving a Ford Explorer SUV, traveling eastbound on Newtown Road, on February 17th when she allegedly missed a stop sign and struck 7-year-old Dolma Naadhum who was returning from an after-school program.

The girl suffered a severe head injury and was rushed to hospital where she died of her injuries. A gofundme has been created to help raise funds to support them with the memorial and funeral services. 

Police announced on May 9th that Mendez-Vasquez has been charged with criminally negligent homicide.
