NYPD said a man was located suffering from a stab wound at Pier 84 at 5:50 a.m. on July 13th. Police said five people were together at Pier 84, when the suspect approached Hugo Morales on a bench. The victim and suspect became involved in an argument that escalated, resulting in Hugo Morales being fatally stabbed in the chest.
Morales was rushed to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
Police are searching for four persons of interest who fled the Pier in an unknown direction. Police described the main suspect as a man with a light complexion and a Caesar-style haircut, who was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, light-colored shorts and white sneakers while carrying a black cross-body bag and a black backpack.
Update Police said they located Luis Gil, 19, boarding a bus in Chicago, heading west. He was arrested on July 24th.
